Quality

No need to worry: At NatuGena, the quality and safety of our products always come first. That’s why our supplements are carefully tested and subjected to stability testing.

This allows us to ensure that our dietary supplements can reliably withstand temperature fluctuations during transport in the summer. Product quality and shelf life are maintained during short-term shipping on warm days.

Our tip: Once your product arrives, store it at normal room temperature in a dry place away from direct light. This helps keep the valuable ingredients optimally protected and ensures that the product is ready for your daily use.

Our products are manufactured in Germany. The raw materials come from all over the world. Our manufacturing partners operate in accordance with recognized quality standards such as GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), ISO 22000 (Food Safety Management), and ISO 9001 (Quality Management).

We work with the independent laboratory AgroLab, which we commission to perform microbiological and heavy metal tests.

In our microbiological testing, we measure the aerobic mesophilic plate count (total plate count), as well as the levels of Escherichia coli (E. coli), yeasts, Salmonella, molds, and staphylococci.

For heavy metals, we test for arsenic, lead, cadmium, and mercury in accordance with the limit values specified in Regulation (EU) 2023/915.

Since we use natural ingredients, our products are similar to the fruits and vegetables you find at the supermarket. The taste, smell, color, and texture may vary from batch to batch. Minor variations in net weight of ± 3 g per package size are normal in our production processes.

Many ingredients come from natural plant sources; this results in variations due to differences in the harvests of the substances contained.

No. We do not conduct or commission any animal testing for our NatuGena dietary supplements.

Our products are developed and manufactured according to high quality standards. We focus on product safety, carefully selected raw materials, and tested manufacturing processes. The raw materials and formulations used are evaluated and processed in accordance with applicable food safety regulations.

As a manufacturer of dietary supplements, we place great emphasis on responsibility, transparency, and quality—animal testing is not part of our corporate philosophy.

Our Commitment to the Environment

Sustainability is an ongoing process. That is why we are constantly refining our initiatives and investing in sustainable infrastructure:

  • Our corporate headquarters was built to modern energy standards and utilizes an energy-efficient ventilation system.
  • Our warehouse is climate-neutral and is powered by electricity from our own photovoltaic system.
  • Through our in-house cardboard recycling facility, used packaging is shredded and directly reused as eco-friendly filler material.

Sustainability in our product range

We are constantly expanding our product range to include organic-quality products and are increasingly focusing on certified organic ingredients. In addition, the majority of our product range is vegan.

At NatuGena, we are constantly exploring sustainable and eco-friendly processes. Our goal is to balance environmental responsibility with the highest product quality. In doing so, we do everything we can to minimize our environmental impact.

For our dry products, we deliberately use food-grade PET instead of glass bottles. This material has several advantages:

  • It is more durable and significantly lighter than glass, making both transport and shipping more environmentally friendly and safer.
  • Additionally, there is no risk of breakage, which virtually eliminates the possibility of damage during transport.
  • Our cans are made of BPA-free material that is specifically approved for food contact.

Our PET packaging meets all applicable European requirements for materials intended to come into contact with food. Compliance is ensured in accordance with the following regulations, among others:

  • Regulation (EC) No. 1935/2004
  • Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 (REACH)
  • Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011, including the amendments made by Regulations (EU) 2020/1245 and (EU) 2023/1442
  • Regulation (EC) No. 2023/2006 (Good Manufacturing Practice)

Extensive migration tests are conducted in accordance with these legal requirements. During these tests, packaging is evaluated under demanding test conditions, such as elevated temperatures and exposure to various solvents. These tests simulate contact with different types of food and also account for adverse storage conditions.

This ensures that no substances posing a health risk migrate from the packaging into the product and that all legally established migration limits are met. Our packaging is therefore suitable for food storage and does not compromise product safety.

The majority of our liquid products are filled in food-safe amber glass bottles to ensure the best possible protection of the ingredients.

At the same time, we are continuously exploring new, more environmentally friendly packaging solutions and are open to suggestions and innovative ideas.

Most of our capsules can be opened without any concerns. The contents can be stirred into yogurt, plant-based yogurt, applesauce, smoothies, or juice, for example.

One of the reasons we encapsulate the ingredients is to keep their sometimes intense natural taste and smell as neutral as possible. When opened, the taste and smell may therefore be more noticeable.

Did you know? Our capsules can be easily opened by gently twisting them.

Please do not open: enteric-coated capsules

For certain bacterial and enzyme products, we use enteric-coated capsules. These should not be opened, as doing so may alter the intended release profile.

These include, for example:

  • Bacterial preparations, such as HistaBakt, MakroAktiv, and BactoGena 21+2
  • Enzyme products, such as N-Zymarase® Intest and N-Zymarase® Inflam. Exception: N-Zymarase Komplex contains betaine HCl, which is intended to take effect in the stomach; therefore, it does not have an enteric-coated capsule shell and can be opened
  • Soft capsules with liquid contents, such as omega-3 capsules, are also not intended to be opened. In this case, you can switch to the liquid oil instead.

If you have any questions, please contact our advisory team at info@natugena.de.

From the very beginning, NatuGena has used exceptionally pure, plant-based HPMC capsules in the majority of its products. HPMC stands for hydroxypropyl methylcellulose and is made from plant-based cellulose.

Unlike many HPMC capsules commonly available on the market, the coating agents we use contain no carrageenan or PEG. Although they are more expensive, they meet our high standards for a carefully selected and transparent product composition.

Our plant-based HPMC capsules are:
  • 100% plant-based cellulose (HPMC)
  • Carrageenan-free
  • PEG-free
  • Gelatin-free
  • GMO-free
  • Free of allergens and irritants
What types of capsule shells are used in omega-3 products?

Special softgels are required for liquid oils. Our classic omega-3 capsules therefore contain a coating made from gelatin and glycerin and are not vegan.

In our vegan omega-3 capsules made from algae oil, the coating consists of glycerin and modified cornstarch and contains no gelatin. This makes these capsules suitable for a vegan diet.

The exact composition of each coating agent is clearly listed in the ingredients list.

It All Comes Down to the Composition

Conventional capsule shells may contain technical additives—such as anti-caking agents, release agents, or binders—due to the manufacturing process. These components aren’t always immediately apparent, as certain processing aids aren’t required to be listed in the ingredients list.

People who take several dietary supplements daily, in particular, regularly ingest not only the actual ingredients but also the respective capsule shells. That is why at NatuGena, we pay close attention not only to the quality of the nutrients and plant-based ingredients contained in our products but also to the composition and processing of the capsule shells. For us, transparency, purity, and quality go hand in hand.

Most of the NatuGena capsule products are size 00 (8,2 × 23,3 mm) to 0 (7,3 × 21,2 mm). Information on the capsule sizes of individual products can be found on the relevant product page or by contacting info@natugena.de

Consumption

The optimal duration of use depends on the specific nutrient, your initial situation, diet, and individual requirements.

There is therefore no one-size-fits-all recommendation for how long a product should be taken. For products intended to support nutrient intake over a longer period, use over several weeks to months may be appropriate. In many cases, a period of around three months may be suitable before nutrient status and further requirements are reassessed.

In the case of diagnosed deficiencies, medical conditions, or the use of medication, the use of supplements should be individually discussed with a doctor or qualified healthcare professional.

The optimal time to take a supplement depends on the specific nutrient, individual tolerance, and the composition of the product. However, some ingredients can be particularly well suited to certain times of day or meals.

In the morning

Stimulating ingredients are often preferably taken in the morning or during the first half of the day. These include, for example:

  • Coenzyme Q10
  • Green tea extract
  • Certain B vitamins

Especially for sensitive individuals, it may be advisable to avoid taking stimulating ingredients immediately before bedtime.

Throughout the day

For some nutrients, it may be beneficial to divide the daily amount into several doses.

Water-soluble vitamins such as B vitamins and vitamin C can be taken throughout the day.

Magnesium can also be divided into several doses rather than taking the entire daily amount at once. This may improve tolerance, particularly with higher amounts.

In the evening

Depending on the type of magnesium compound, taking it in the evening may be beneficial. Magnesium glycinate, for example, is often preferably taken in the evening.

In general, however, the best time to take a product also depends on when it is individually best tolerated and can be reliably incorporated into your daily routine.

With a meal

Some nutrients benefit from being taken together with a meal.

Fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K can be taken together and ideally with a meal containing some fat.

Omega-3 fatty acids should also be taken regularly with a meal. Omega-3 oils can be combined well with fat-soluble vitamins.

Many plant-based ingredients can also be taken as part of a meal or together with omega-3 products. However, the optimal timing depends on the specific plant compound and product formulation.

Zinc can cause nausea or stomach discomfort on an empty stomach in some people. If you have a sensitive stomach, it is therefore advisable to take zinc with a meal.

Between meals

Iron is often taken separately from meals, as various foods and beverages can affect its absorption. It is particularly advisable to leave a gap between iron and:

  • Coffee and tea
  • Caffeinated beverages
  • Milk and dairy products
  • Calcium- or mineral-rich supplements

However, if you have a sensitive stomach, iron can also be taken with a meal. In this case, individual tolerance is more important than a theoretically optimal intake situation.

Enzyme supplements vary depending on their intended use: digestive enzymes are generally taken with meals. Products that are specifically intended to be taken between meals may, for example, be taken around 30 minutes before a meal. The product's specific recommended intake should always be followed.

Around exercise

Proteins and amino acids can be taken both before and after training.

If you exercise on an empty stomach, taking them around 30 minutes before training may be beneficial. If you have already eaten a protein-rich meal, you can also plan your protein intake for after training.

In general, ensuring sufficient protein intake throughout the entire day is more important than adhering to a narrow time window around your workout.

Keep sealed, cool, dry, and protected from light. For liquid products, storage in the refrigerator after opening is recommended.

From a scientific perspective, supplementation may often be beneficial even when values are within the “normal range.” A distinction is made between a clinically manifest deficiency and a latent insufficiency. Even a slight insufficiency, for example in magnesium, can reduce the activity of enzymes within cells by up to 50%. Particularly during periods of high everyday demands, stress, or physical activity, the need for biocatalysts can increase significantly, meaning that “normal” values may often not be sufficient for optimal performance. It is generally advisable to aim for the upper third of the reference range. Consultation with your treating doctor or healthcare professional is recommended.

Please have this question clarified by a doctor or qualified healthcare professional.

We offer a range of tests that allow you to conveniently check for potential nutrient deficiencies from the comfort of your own home:

Your general practitioner or naturopath can also provide information about other diagnostic methods.

No, 250 ml is a standard recommendation to ensure that the capsule, powder, or tablet reaches the stomach safely. Of course, you can also take the products with less liquid.

Lemon is alkaline and is generally perceived as refreshing. Alternatively, you can simply take the product with plain water.

For products where we recommend adding apple juice, this is an ingredient that helps enhance the taste of the product. Alternatively, you can take the product with plain water or vegetable juice. Apple juice is not essential.

Since September 2024, products that are not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women have been specially marked in our catalog.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, we can recommend our MamaBox.

Which NatuGena products can provide nutritional support during pregnancy?

  • MamaFit: Nutrient complex containing, among other things, bioactive folate (MTHFR), iodine, iron, and magnesium to meet the increased nutrient requirements during pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • OktaAmino: All 8 essential amino acids, which serve as building blocks for hormones, cells, and enzymes
  • Omega-3 fatty acids: Maternal intake of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) during pregnancy and breastfeeding contributes to the normal development of the brain and eyes of the fetus and breastfed child
  • Magnesium: Magnesium contributes to normal muscle function (e.g. the uterine muscles), normal nervous system function, and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue
  • Liposomal Vitamin D3 1000 Vegan: During the first trimester, please note that this is pure vitamin D without vitamin A. Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and the normal function of the immune system – particularly important during pregnancy.
  • Vitamin A is essential for normal reproduction and embryonic development during the 2nd and 3rd trimesters. The product LipoVitamine 1000 (ADEK) is suitable for the 2nd and 3rd trimesters, as it also provides vitamin A (included in the MamaBox).
  • BactoGenaForte 21 or Vitality Synbiotic sechs: Even before birth, mothers can support their gut microbiome with our bacterial products and, if appropriate, combine them with organic acacia fiber as a source of dietary fiber.
  • If needed, iron supplements: liposomal iron with 21 mg, or, after consultation with a doctor, the higher-dose Lactoferrin with 40 mg of iron.

Please discuss the use of these products with your doctor or midwife. If you have any further questions about their use, you can call us at +49 841 90 255 000 or send us an email (beratung@natugena.de).

Our vitamin B complex, HydroVitamins, offers flexibility with 3 small capsules, which can also be opened. For vitamin B12, we offer a liquid product with a convenient 10 µg per drop for flexible dosing.

Dosage

In general, the recommended intake stated on the packaging applies to adults. Since children’s nutrient requirements vary depending on age, body weight, diet, and individual circumstances, the use and dosage of our products should be discussed with the treating pediatrician in advance. Please note that not all ingredients and products are suitable for children. Suitability should therefore always be professionally assessed on an individual basis.

Many capsules can generally be opened and their contents mixed into food or a drink, such as (coconut) yogurt, applesauce, or mashed potatoes. However, this should not be used as a basis for independently determining the dosage for children.

For drops as well, the amount and frequency of intake for children should be determined individually based on tolerance and need, in consultation with a healthcare professional.

Dietary supplements are generally intended for healthy adults. In rare cases, taking dietary supplements may cause individual adverse reactions, particularly in sensitive individuals or when starting a new supplement.

If you have pre-existing medical conditions or known intolerances, we recommend that you discuss taking our products with your treating doctor or therapist before purchasing.

Our customer service team is also happy to assist you: If you have questions about specific ingredients or recommended intake, we can provide individual and expert advice by phone or email before your purchase.

Our Tips for Sensitive Individuals
  • Start slowly: Begin with half the recommended dosage (if necessary, open the capsule) or less, e.g. just one capsule per day – ideally with a meal. This can often significantly improve tolerance.
  • Introduce products individually: If you would like to try several products, start with one product at a time, for example, for 3 days to 1 week. This makes it easier to determine how your body responds to each individual product.
Returns and Cancellation of Opened Products

Please understand that, for hygiene reasons, we cannot accept returns of products that have already been opened. In these cases, the statutory right of withdrawal does not apply in full, as the product is no longer in its original condition and therefore compensation for loss of value is excluded.

The statutory right of withdrawal applies exclusively to unopened, original-packaged products in perfect condition. Details regarding the right of withdrawal can be found in our General Terms and Conditions.
Please contact us by phone or email at info@natugena.de.

Sensitive individuals may occasionally react to certain micronutrients or plant extracts, particularly at higher doses or when taken on an empty stomach.

These include, in particular:

  • High-dose vitamin C (due to its acidity)
  • Magnesium citrate (may have a laxative effect)
  • Zinc (often poorly tolerated on an empty stomach)
  • Conventional iron supplements
  • Plant extracts such as frankincense (Boswellia)
Better-tolerated alternatives from our range include:

These forms are generally much gentler on the stomach.

Tip for Sensitive Individuals

Whenever possible, take micronutrients with meals, start with a low dose, and introduce new products gradually.

How to Find a Good Naturopath, Therapist, or Holistic Doctor: Tips for Choosing the Right Practice

Many people with chronic complaints or recurring health problems look for naturopathic or holistic support. They have often already undergone numerous examinations and treatments but still feel that their questions or concerns have not been adequately addressed. At the same time, general practitioners and specialist practices are under considerable time pressure and are required to follow medical guidelines. These guidelines are important for providing good medical care, but in everyday practice they can leave little time and scope for individualized, holistic support and a detailed investigation of possible underlying causes.

What Should You Look for When Choosing a Naturopathic or Holistic Practice?
  • Relevant experience: Does the therapist have experience and further training relevant to your particular concerns?
  • Time for you: A detailed initial consultation and genuinely attentive listening are important foundations for good care.
  • Individual support: Recommendations should be tailored to your personal situation rather than based on standardized programs or product packages.
  • Conventional medicine and naturopathy: These two approaches are not mutually exclusive. Depending on your symptoms and medical situation, they can complement each other. A good therapist takes existing diagnoses, test results, and treatments into account.
  • Open communication: You should feel comfortable asking questions at any time and receive clear, understandable answers, including after your appointment.
  • No promises of cures: Reputable therapists do not promise quick or guaranteed cures.
  • Trust: Most importantly, you should feel that you are in good hands, that your concerns are taken seriously, and that you are understood.
Possible Questions to Ask Before Your First Appointment
  • What experience do you have with my particular symptoms or condition?
  • How does treatment work in your practice? What costs should I expect?
  • Do you work with doctors or other healthcare professionals?
  • How do you take existing conditions and my medications into account?

Finding the right practitioner sometimes requires a little patience. Recommendations from friends, family, or acquaintances can provide valuable guidance. An initial phone call or personal consultation can often give you a good sense of whether the practice and therapist are a good fit for you and your needs. A trusting relationship is an important foundation for working together throughout your treatment journey.

Regarding Our Products

The German Nutrition Society (DGE) has specified an estimated value of 20 µg of vitamin D per day as an adequate intake for children one year of age and older and for adults. This corresponds to 800 International Units (IU).

According to the DGE, dietary intake from typical foods is not sufficient to meet this recommended intake. The shortfall must be made up through the body’s own synthesis or by taking a vitamin D supplement.

Certain groups are particularly at risk for vitamin D deficiency. If you spend little time outdoors, are immobile, work night shifts, wear heavy sun protection in the summer (sunscreen, long clothing), or are otherwise unable to synthesize vitamin D naturally, year-round vitamin D supplementation is recommended.

The body’s own synthesis of vitamin D decreases by up to 50% with age. For this reason, it is particularly important for people aged 65 and older to maintain stable vitamin D levels.

To ensure an adequate supply of vitamin D, it is recommended to have your individual blood levels measured. You can do this through your primary care physician or, for example, with the preventis test. The required daily supplementation may be higher for some individuals than what is generally recommended by the DGE.

Opinions differ on this point. We’re happy to share that the body can produce up to 15,000–20,000 IU of vitamin D on its own during a 10–15-minute sunbathing session without UV protection.

The German Nutrition Society (DGE) has specified an estimated adequate intake of 20 µg of vitamin D per day for children one year and older and for adults. This corresponds to 800 International Units (IU).

You can safely determine your individual daily dose by having your blood vitamin D level measured and using a vitamin D calculator to calculate the dose. It is recommended to have the level rechecked after a few months to see if the desired result has been achieved.

You can have the test performed by your doctor or therapist, or use a self-test kit, such as “preventis Vitamin D” from our product range.

In Germany and the EU, for legal reasons, manufacturers and consultants are permitted to publicly recommend a maximum daily intake of 1,000 IU of vitamin D. This does not mean that higher doses are not possible or advisable—particularly in cases of a confirmed deficiency or therapeutic need, a doctor or therapist may prescribe higher doses on a case-by-case basis.

In Germany and the EU, manufacturers and consultants are legally restricted to publicly recommending a maximum daily intake of 1,000 IU of vitamin D.

This does not mean that higher doses are not possible or advisable—especially in cases of a confirmed deficiency or therapeutic need, a doctor or therapist may prescribe higher doses on an individual basis. Our recommended daily intake is based on legal requirements and is not a substitute for an individual medical recommendation. If your doctor or therapist has recommended a higher dosage due to a confirmed vitamin D deficiency or your individual situation, you may follow that recommendation.

Vitamin D3 cannot be derived from plants. In our vegan products, it therefore comes from the fungal component of lichens. In our vegetarian products, it comes from lanolin, the natural wax found in sheep’s wool.

Adequate and stable vitamin D levels have a major impact on human well-being and a healthy immune system.

Your doctor can provide you with a guideline for healthy vitamin D levels.

Tip: With Preventis, you can take a vitamin D self-test right from home!

Vitamin D3 Single-Nutrient Supplements

The single-nutrient supplements specifically contain vitamin D3 and are available in different dosages and dosage forms:

  • Vitamin D3 2,000 IU
  • Vitamin D3 5,000 IU
  • Vitamin D3 10,000 IU
  • Liposomal Vitamin D3 1,000 IU (vegan)

They are suitable for people who wish to supplement vitamin D3 specifically and without additional vitamins. The appropriate dosage should be based on individual requirements and, where applicable, on vitamin D status determined by a physician.

Combination Products

The combination products include the various LipoVitamine products as well as supplements containing vitamin D3 and vitamin K2.

LipoVitamine 5,000

LipoVitamine 5,000 was formulated with a clear focus on vitamin D3, for example to specifically support vitamin D intake. The additional fat-soluble vitamins K2, A and E are included in comparatively lower amounts and complement the formulation.

LipoVitamine 1,000

In LipoVitamine 1,000, vitamins A and K2 are present in higher amounts in relation to the vitamin D3 content. The product is therefore suitable not only for supporting the maintenance of normal vitamin D levels, but also offers additional nutritional benefits:

  • Vitamin A contributes to the maintenance of normal vision, normal skin and normal mucous membranes.
  • Vitamin K contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and normal blood clotting.
  • Vitamin D contributes, among other things, to the maintenance of normal bones and teeth and normal muscle function.
LipoVitamine 1,000 Vegan

LipoVitamine 1,000 Vegan is the vegan version of the formulation and also contains vitamin D3 in combination with other fat-soluble vitamins. Unlike the classic version, the product does not contain vitamin E. The vegan formulation is liposomal and therefore has a milky appearance.

LipoVitamine Beta

LipoVitamine Beta combines vitamin D3 with beta-carotene as a plant-based precursor of vitamin A. The product is available in two dosages:

  • LipoVitamine Beta with 1,000 IU vitamin D3
  • LipoVitamine Beta with 2,500 IU vitamin D3
LipoVitamine 10,000

In terms of dosage, LipoVitamine 10,000 corresponds to ten times the amount contained in LipoVitamine 1,000. The product is formulated as a capsule and therefore provides a correspondingly higher-dose supplementation of the included fat-soluble vitamins A, K2 and E.

Vitamin D3 and K2

The combination of vitamin D3 and vitamin K2 is available in two dosages:

  • Vitamin D3 + K2 with 1,000 IU vitamin D3 (drops)
  • Vitamin D3 + K2 with 5,000 IU vitamin D3 (capsules)
Value Sets

LipoVitamine 1,000 and LipoVitamine 5,000 are also included in various value sets:

  • Vitamin Complex 1,000 and 5,000 = combination of LipoVitamine and HydroVitamine.
  • Vitamin/Mineral Complex 1,000 and 5,000 = combination of LipoVitamine, HydroVitamine and OrgaMin.

This allows fat-soluble and water-soluble vitamins as well as selected minerals to be combined according to individual requirements.

Here we offer various concentrations of vitamin D per drop. Our LipoVitamine 5000 product, for example, contains 5,000 IU of vitamin D3 per drop!

The liposomal vitamin D products are also vegan:

  • LipoVitamine 1000 Vegan (with D3, K2 & A)
  • Liposomal Vitamin D3 1000 Vegan

The advantage of the liposomal formulation over MCT oil is improved absorption thanks to the finely dispersed droplets, which can be absorbed directly through the oral mucosa. This allows for flexible intake regardless of mealtimes and is therefore also suitable whilst fasting.

Our tried-and-tested vitamin D products containing MCT oil are:

  • LipoVitamins (1000, 5000 & 10,000) with D3, K2, A and E
  • LipoVitamins Beta 1000 & 2500 with D3, K2, beta-carotene and E
  • Vitamin D3 & K2 drops and, as capsules, Vitamin D3+K2 5,000
  • Vitamin D 2,000
  • Vitamin D 5,000 and, as capsules, Vitamin D3 5,000 capsules

Products containing MCT oil can be optimally combined with omega-3 oil or with a high-fat meal.

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin. It is best absorbed when taken with fat. NatuGena’s liquid vitamin D products are formulated in a high-fat solution. MCT oil is used as the carrier oil, which is regarded as being of very high quality.

In our new liposomal formulation, the vitamin D dissolved in MCT oil is contained in an oil-in-water emulsion. The finely dispersed, nanometre-sized droplets are very easily absorbed through the oral mucosa.

We have two different products containing a blend of vitamins D3, K2, A and E:

  • LipoVitamine 1000 VEGAN is a liposomal formulation (it has a milky appearance)
  • whereas LipoVitamine 1000 is made from MCT coconut oil and appears clear.

The liposomal liquid appears milky due to the finely dispersed droplets; this can be explained by the physical Tyndall effect. This effect can also be observed in milk, which is likewise a finely dispersed emulsion. Light is refracted by the fine fat droplets, and the liquid is no longer transparent. Liposomes ensure that the fat-soluble vitamins can be optimally absorbed by the body.

The bioactive form of vitamin K2 is (menaquinone) MK7-all-trans. Vitamin K2 helps maintain healthy bones. It is involved in the incorporation of calcium into the bones (bone mineralisation) and thus works in conjunction with vitamin D in the metabolic process.

If you have an increased personal requirement for vitamin K2, we offer a standalone vitamin K2 supplement. This allows you to optimally meet your individual requirements.

Vitamin E (tocopherol) helps to protect cells from oxidative stress. Conveniently, it also extends the product’s shelf life.

Vitamin A and vitamin D both help to support a normal immune system. Vitamin A also helps to maintain normal skin and mucous membranes, and to maintain normal vision.

Yes, magnesium and vitamin A can be combined well with vitamin D.

According to Mr Uwe Gröber’s patient guide on vitamin D, magnesium influences the absorption of vitamin D and vice versa. Take a look at our magnesium products here.

Vitamin A is already included in our LipoVitamine products. We also stock it as a single-ingredient supplement.

The ideal storage conditions for our vitamin D drops are in a cool, dark place (maximum room temperature 17–20 °C or in the fridge).

Once opened, we recommend storing the product in the fridge (5–7 °C) and closing the lid promptly after use to minimise the influx of oxygen. The product has a shelf life of 2 years from the date of manufacture (best before). Please ensure hygienic dispensing. We recommend dispensing the drops from a distance of 10–15 cm to avoid contamination.

If you regularly take omega-3 oil supplements, you can also mix the vitamin D oil directly with them. Simply add the appropriate number of vitamin D drops to the omega-3 bottle, depending on the planned duration of use.

The vitamin D capsule products can be stored in a cool, dark place (at a maximum room temperature of 17–20 °C or tightly sealed in the fridge).

Vitamin A comes from the pigment in sunflowers. The harvest does not always contain the same amount of vitamin A. As a result, the colour (orange-reddish) and flavour vary. Some people describe the ‘vitamin A smell’ as follows: ‘Sunflowers smell like pollen’.

Once opened, we recommend storing the product in the fridge (5–7 °C) and closing the lid promptly after use to minimise the influx of oxygen. Please also ensure that you handle the product hygienically when taking it out.

No, vitamin D3 and vitamin K2 do not necessarily have to be taken together or at the same time. Both vitamins fulfil distinct functions: vitamin D contributes to the normal absorption and utilisation of calcium, as well as to the maintenance of normal bones. Vitamin K also contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and to normal blood clotting. As both are fat-soluble, it is recommended that they be taken with a meal containing some fat.

Yes, vitamin D3 can generally be taken without additional vitamin K2. Vitamin K2 is not required for either the absorption or the activation of vitamin D3. Whether a combination or single-ingredient supplement is more suitable depends on individual needs, diet and any medication being taken.

A combination supplement may be useful if both vitamins are to be specifically supplemented. Vitamin D and vitamin K each contribute to the maintenance of normal bones and thus complement one another in calcium and bone metabolism. However, this does not justify a general recommendation to take vitamin K2 whenever vitamin D is taken. In cases of high-dose vitamin D3, osteoporosis or existing medical conditions, intake should be discussed with a healthcare professional.

Important note: Anyone taking vitamin K antagonists such as phenprocoumon or warfarin should only use vitamin K-containing dietary supplements after consulting their doctor.

Anyone taking vitamin K antagonists such as Marcumar® – which contains the active ingredient phenprocoumon – or warfarin should only take vitamin K2 supplements after consulting their doctor. Vitamin K can affect the anticoagulant effect of these medicines. If taken, this should therefore be done under regular monitoring of the INR or Quick value, where appropriate.

With other anticoagulant medicines, the interaction is not necessarily the same; nevertheless, as a precaution, the intake of vitamin K2 should be discussed with your doctor.

Our Omega-3 Vegan Algae Oil Capsules are based on the unique microalgae species Schizochytrium. These tiny, single-celled algae naturally thrive in mangrove forests along tropical coasts and feed on plant matter. The outstanding characteristic of this algae is its production of the essential omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA. However, we cultivate the microalgae in closed systems using spring water. This means they do not come into contact with the environment and are protected from all forms of contamination.

The algae are cultivated in special organic fermenters made of stainless steel. This takes place in the dark, using appropriate carbon-containing nutrient solutions to ensure the algae develop optimally. Thanks to the closed system, there is no contact with fish or seawater, and no heavy metals, microplastics or other marine pollutants can enter our algae.

No, the microalgae used for our omega-3 algae oil are cultivated in spring water in light-protected stainless-steel tanks, which conserves valuable resources and protects against any contamination. Thanks to the closed system, there is no contact with fish or seawater. This explains why the algae and the omega oil extracted from them do not contain iodine.

Omega-3 can be a useful long-term supplement due to its benefits. It is also suitable for pregnant women: 450 mg of EPA/DHA per day during pregnancy and whilst breastfeeding (in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2017/2470).

The products are manufactured safely in accordance with German quality standards (GMP). NatuGena Omega-3 oil products are free from gluten, lactose, fructose, colourings and anti-caking agents. They contain essential oils: the vegan algae oil contains natural lemon oil, and the sunflower oil contains rosemary extract. The fish oil contains a natural orange and lemon flavouring. The capsules are without flavouring.

Our microalgae are not wild-caught but are cultivated in a controlled, closed environment. This means:

  • We preserve natural fish stocks and actively help combat overfishing.
  • We avoid disrupting sensitive marine ecosystems, as we do not extract any natural resources from the sea.
  • We minimize our carbon footprint, as no fishing, long transport routes, or complex purification processes are required.
  • We reduce environmental impact, as there is no bycatch, no nets, or other interference with nature.
  • Production follows strict sustainability guidelines, with energy and water consumption continuously optimized. Cultivation in stainless steel fermenters also enables a circular production process that efficiently utilizes resources.

Summary:

  • 100% vegan, sustainably and environmentally friendly produced.
  • Free from heavy metals, microplastics, and other pollutants.
  • No impact on the marine ecosystem.
  • Conservation of fish stocks and resource preservation through closed cultivation systems.

Our omega-3 oils also contain cold-pressed olive oils. How can you tell the quality of olive oil?

  • Good olive oil has a fruity aroma reminiscent of ripe or green fruit
  • It tastes fresh and has a slightly bitter note
  • It has a distinct piquancy on the finish

This piquancy therefore comes from the polyphenol-rich olive oil. Cloudiness or flocculation in the fridge is normal and a sign of natural quality.

We would like to provide you with a clear explanation of this quality parameter below and highlight the unique features of our product.

The Totox value (Total Oxidation Value) is a key measure for assessing the oxidative stability and, consequently, the freshness of an omega-3 oil. It is calculated as the sum of the primary (peroxide value) and secondary oxidation products (anisidine value) and provides information on the overall extent of oxidative damage to the oil.

Important: The Totox value should be measured in the crude oil – that is, before it is enriched with vitamins, polyphenols or other active ingredients. Additives such as flavourings (e.g. lemon oil) or antioxidants can influence the anisidine value and thus distort the Totox value, even though the actual oxidation of the base oil has not changed. Only by analysing the unprocessed crude oil is it possible to make an objective comparison between products.

The omega-3 oils we use meet the highest quality standards and are characterised by particularly low Totox values. According to the GOED (Global Organisation for EPA and DHA Omega-3), the Totox value should not exceed 26 – an excellent value is ideally below 10. The revised guidelines for edible fats and oils (BVL, 30 May 2011) specify a maximum Totox value of 10 for refined oils. The Totox values of our NatuGena omega-3 raw materials consistently fall within the range of 1–3, depending on the batch.

Unlike many conventional omega-3 products, our oil is not a pure fish or algae oil, but a functionally enriched formulation. We combine the high-purity omega-3 crude oil with selected polyphenols, vitamins (e.g. vitamin E to protect cells from oxidative stress) and other bioactive ingredients. This enables us to achieve synergistic effects at the cellular level and specifically promote absorption and the protective properties of the product.

The oxidative stability – and thus the efficacy and tolerability – of our product is directly attributable to the exceptionally high quality of the crude oil used. The Totox value is a key indicator in this regard, which we monitor regularly.

Omega-3 fatty acids, particularly DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), play an important role in your baby’s brain and eye development. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) recommends that pregnant and breastfeeding women consume an additional 200 mg of DHA per day.

Our recommendations take into account the guidelines set out in the EU Novel Food Regulation, which stipulates a maximum daily intake of 450 mg of EPA and DHA for certain omega-3 products.

Algae oil
During pregnancy and whilst breastfeeding, we recommend taking 5 ml of algae oil every 5 days. This dosage provides an average of around 270 mg of DHA per day and is therefore ideally suited to the recommendations for supporting your child’s development.

If you prefer a simple daily routine, you can alternatively opt for our vegan omega-3 capsules.

Vegan omega-3 capsules (algae oil-based)
Outside of pregnancy and breastfeeding, 3 capsules a day are recommended. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, however, 1 capsule a day is sufficient; this provides approximately 375 mg of EPA/DHA and is therefore within the legal limits.

Ideally, take them with or after a meal, with plenty of liquid.

Fish oil
For adults, the standard recommendation is 6.25 ml daily, taken with or after a meal. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, we recommend 6.25 ml every 6 days, so that the average daily intake also complies with the applicable guidelines.

How can I check my omega-3 status?
As individual omega-3 requirements can vary, the HS-Omega-3 Index® self-test offers a simple way to objectively assess your own intake. The test measures the proportion of omega-3 fatty acids directly in your red blood cells and shows whether your intake is optimal or whether adjusting the dosage might be advisable.

Once opened, we recommend storing the product in the fridge and using it in accordance with the instructions on the packaging (daily pack). The oil must not be heated.

For our algae oil, we use a vegan soft starch capsule shell made from glycerine and maize starch. For our fish oil, we use soft gelatine capsules made from gelatine and glycerine (not vegan).

The recommendation to use the oil within 30 days of opening is intended to ensure the best possible quality and freshness. Provided the bottle is kept tightly sealed at all times and stored in the fridge, exceeding this timeframe slightly is generally not a problem. Nevertheless, we recommend using the oil within the recommended period wherever possible, as omega-3 fatty acids are sensitive to oxygen, light and heat and may lose their quality over time.

To transport the Omega product, it can be placed in a cool bag or with an ice pack. Once at your holiday destination, it should be stored in the fridge if possible. If it is not possible to keep it cool continuously for a few hours during the journey, this is not usually a problem.

We offer a range of different magnesium salts. To understand the difference between them, we need to take a brief detour into chemistry. Elemental magnesium is always positively charged and must therefore find a negatively charged bonding partner in order to exist as a stable, balanced salt.

There are a wide variety of magnesium salts, but not all of them dissolve well in the body and are therefore able to release magnesium to our cells (bioavailability). We primarily offer highly bioavailable and organically bound forms of magnesium.

But why do we actually need magnesium in our bodies? We are all familiar with ‘calf cramps’ and know that magnesium can help with these. It can be said that magnesium acts on cramps in the body by promoting muscle relaxation, regulating calcium uptake into muscle cells and maintaining electrolyte balance. Furthermore, magnesium is involved in over 600 reactions in the body, making it a very important mineral for our bodies. In addition to the muscles, it also contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and teeth. It contributes to normal protein synthesis and plays a role in cell division.

We therefore need to provide our bodies with a form of magnesium that dissolves easily. Magnesium can, for example, be bound to citric acid (magnesium citrate) or taurine (magnesium taurate). When the magnesium salt dissolves in the body, we are not only supplied with magnesium but also with the corresponding binding partner. This leads to the following conclusions:

  • Magnesium citrate: magnesium + citric acid – highly soluble, may gently stimulate bowel function. Magnesium contributes to electrolyte balance and normal energy metabolism.
  • Magnesium malate: magnesium + malic acid – considered well tolerated, may gently stimulate bowel function. Magnesium also contributes to normal muscle function and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
  • Magnesium ascorbate: magnesium + ascorbic acid (vitamin C) – focuses on vitamin C supply, highly soluble and gentle on the stomach.
  • Magtein® (magnesium L-threonate): Magnesium + L-threonic acid – special chemical structure, well tolerated, currently the subject of research in the field of cognitive function. Magnesium contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system and to normal psychological function. Focus on the nervous system and as a supplement during periods of mental strain.
  • Magnesium (bis)glycinate: magnesium + the amino acid L-glycine – chelated form, very stable, very well tolerated. Magnesium also contributes to normal psychological function and to the normal functioning of the nervous system. Focus on the nervous system and psychological well-being; suitable for stress and inner restlessness; often preferred in the evening.
  • Magnesium taurate: magnesium + the amino acid taurine – stable chelate structure, well tolerated. Magnesium also contributes to normal muscle function. Focus on cardiac and vascular muscles.
  • Magnesium oxide – sourced from the Dead Sea with a particularly high content of elemental magnesium (60%).
We offer these forms of magnesium as individual supplements; in addition, we have the following combination products:
  • Magnesia 7+1 – our colourful blend of 7+1 magnesium salts (magnesium citrate, magnesium bisglycinate, magnesium malate, magnesium taurate, magnesium gluconate, magnesium lactate, magnesium phosphate, magnesium carbonate).
  • Calcium & Magnesium – calcium and magnesium contribute to normal muscle function and the maintenance of normal bones
  • Magnesium Malate & Glycinate – organic magnesium compounds with rapid absorption. Magnesium also contributes to normal muscle function, to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, and to the normal functioning of the nervous system.

Further and more detailed information can be found in our blog article: Magnesium – a multi-talented nutrient

Summary: Magnesium must always find a binding partner and exist in the form of a salt. This binding partner, in turn, can offer benefits for the body or have effects on the target tissue. By carefully selecting the right magnesium salt, you can prioritise different areas of the body – for example, the muscles, heart, nerves, energy levels or cognitive function.

Which magnesium compound is best suited depends primarily on individual tolerability, the preferred time of intake, and the individual dietary situation.

For versatile magnesium supplementation

Those who want to combine different magnesium compounds can opt for a combination product. Magnesia 7+1 contains eight different magnesium salts, providing a broad-based magnesium supply.

Which form of magnesium is suitable for digestion?

Magnesium citrate and magnesium malate can mildly stimulate intestinal activity and soften the stool. They are therefore often preferred in cases of sluggish digestion.

Those who tend to have loose stools or diarrhea should initially use these forms with caution and can alternatively choose well-tolerated compounds such as magnesium bisglycinate or magnesium taurate.

Which form of magnesium is suitable at which time of day?

Magnesium citrate, magnesium malate, magnesium taurate, and magnesium L-threonate are often taken in the morning or during the day. Magnesium bisglycinate is often preferred in the evening due to its combination with the amino acid glycine.

Higher amounts of magnesium should ideally be divided into several smaller portions throughout the day. This can improve tolerability.

  • Organic magnesium compounds are generally highly soluble, are absorbed rapidly and are considered to be particularly well tolerated. They are particularly suitable for situations where there is an increased need for magnesium or where the digestive system is sensitive.
  • Inorganic magnesium compounds contain a high proportion of elemental magnesium and are released more slowly. They are particularly suitable for replenishing magnesium stores over the long term.

A combination of both forms may be beneficial in order to combine rapid availability with a sustained supply.

Magnesia 7+1 is a magnesium complex comprising eight different magnesium compounds. It combines organic and inorganic forms of magnesium to cater for different rates of absorption.

Thanks to this composition, the complex is suitable for a comprehensive magnesium supply that takes into account both immediate availability and long-term provision.

It contains magnesium citrate, magnesium bisglycinate, magnesium malate, magnesium taurate, magnesium gluconate, magnesium lactate, magnesium phosphate and magnesium carbonate.

Magnesium citrate is highly water-soluble and is absorbed quickly. It is often used during physical activity, sporting exertion or when there is an increased need for magnesium. Due to its properties, it can gently stimulate bowel function.

Magnesium L-threonate (Magtein®) is a specialised magnesium compound containing L-threonic acid, a breakdown product of vitamin C.
This form of magnesium is the subject of current research into the nervous system and cognitive functions, and is specifically used when the focus is on mental performance and concentration.

In magnesium taurate, magnesium is bound to the amino acid taurine. This form is often chosen when the focus is on muscle function, particularly in relation to the heart and blood vessels.
Magnesium taurate is considered to be well tolerated and is absorbed by the body relatively quickly.

Depending on the compound, magnesium can have a laxative effect.
A common cause is that magnesium citrate draws water into the bowel, which can lead to diarrhoea.

Alternatives that are better tolerated:
  • Magnesium glycinate
  • Magnesium taurate
  • Magnesium threonate

These forms are particularly suitable for people with sensitive systems.

About both OktaAmino products:
Both products are based on the unique MAP (Master Amino Acid Pattern) structure developed by Prof. Moretti—a scientifically validated composition of essential amino acids with high biological value.

  • OktaAmino (tablets): Contains only the eight essential amino acids in their pure form, derived from legumes. Ideal for anyone looking specifically for a high-quality protein supplement without additives.

Advantages of the tablets: convenient, neutral in taste, and easy to take on the go.

  • OktaAmino Powder: Goes beyond the essential amino acids. It also contains, among other ingredients, creatine monohydrate, D-ribose, magnesium taurate, L-carnitine, citrulline, arginine, tyrosine, and selected micronutrients (e.g., zinc, curcumin, vitamin B6). With this combination, Forte not only supports amino acid intake but also energy balance, recovery, muscle function, and metabolic processes. The mango-passion fruit flavor makes it pleasant to consume.

Advantage of the powder: flexible dosing with the measuring spoon; also suitable for those with swallowing difficulties.

Summary:

OktaAmino (tablets) = pure MAP formula, minimalist, customizable. Convenient, neutral-tasting, and easy to take on the go.

OktaAmino Powder = MAP structure plus additives for energy, recovery, and metabolism—particularly beneficial for active athletes or people under high physical stress. With mango-passion fruit flavor, flexible dosing with the measuring spoon, and also suitable for those with swallowing difficulties.

This gives you the choice between a basic supplement or a more comprehensive, all-in-one formula.

OktaAmino (tablets) contains all 8 essential amino acids. The body can use these to synthesize all other semi-essential and non-essential amino acids on its own. It has 100% bioavailability/digestibility after just 23 minutes, as well as a net nitrogen utilization rate of 99%, thanks to the original MAP structure (= Master Amino Acid Pattern) developed by Prof. Dr. M. Luca-Moretti. The product is suitable for supporting increased daily protein requirements. We recommend our Vitamin B Complex, HydroVitamine, to complement this.

AminoAktivator (capsules), on the other hand, contains all 21 amino acids (essential, semi-essential, and non-essential). The product also contains cofactors in the form of bioactive B vitamins (B6, B9, and B12). Vitamins B6, B9, and B12 are important for protein absorption and contribute to normal energy metabolism.

In dietary proteins, amino acids are linked together to form longer protein chains. During digestion, these must first be broken down into smaller components and individual amino acids.

OktaAmino already contains the eight essential amino acids in their free, crystalline form. Therefore, they do not first need to be extracted from a dietary protein but are immediately available as individual amino acids for further metabolism after ingestion.

The carefully balanced amino acid ratio is based on the Master Amino Acid Pattern.

Lectins occur naturally in legumes such as peas and chickpeas and are found throughout the seed, with slightly higher concentrations in the outer layers. However, the manufacturing process for pea protein (cleaning, grinding, aqueous extraction, heating, and drying) largely inactivates these lectins, so that only inactivated or greatly reduced amounts remain in the final product.

Do the proteins denature during this process?

Yes, the proteins are partially denatured during processing, meaning their structure changes. However, the amino acids—the building blocks—remain fully intact and can still be easily absorbed and utilized by the body; in some cases, digestibility is even improved.

What is the lectin content?

No precise quantitative determination is performed. However, due to the processing, it can be assumed that only inactivated lectins are present in very small amounts.

Our products thus provide amino acids from pea protein in a highly bioavailable form, e.g., Protein Vegan, MitochondrienAktivator Powder, and HeparFit.

A characteristic feature of collagen is its high content of glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline, which together account for nearly half of its amino acids and are responsible for the stability of the collagen fibrils. However, since collagen contains very few essential amino acids (e.g., tryptophan, methionine, BCAAs), it is not a complete protein and is not suitable as a sole source of protein—but rather as a targeted supplement for the skin, bones, joints, and connective tissue.

Which enzyme product is right for which need?

The N-Zymarase products differ primarily in terms of when they should be taken and the specific focus of their formulation. While N-Zymarase Complex and N-Zymarase Intest are designed to support digestion after a meal, N-Zymarase Fructose and N-Zymarase Gluten complement these products for specific needs. N-Zymarase Inflam holds a special place within the product family.

Which is a classic digestive enzyme product to take with a meal?

For a classic digestive enzyme complex, the following three enzymes form a good foundation:

  • Bromelain for breaking down proteins
  • Papain to support protein digestion
  • Lipase for breaking down dietary fats

All three enzymes are included in the following products. Here’s a quick overview of the differences:

  • N-Zymarase Complex - 16 enzymes plus betaine HCl - an exceptionally broad spectrum of enzymes for the digestion of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins
  • N-Zymarase Intest - 8 enzymes - comprehensive digestive support with a focus on fat digestion
  • Bromelain 1200 - 3 enzymes - focuses on highly active bromelain
When are N-Zymarase Gluten and N-Zymarase Fructose recommended?

N-Zymarase Fructose is a specialized product for meals where fructose is the primary focus. It contains the enzyme glucose isomerase, which converts fructose into glucose, supplemented by L-glutamine, vitamins B7 and B9, and zinc, among other ingredients; therefore, it does not replace a broad-spectrum digestive enzyme complex but rather specifically complements it.
Depending on the composition of the meal, N-Zymarase Fructose can be combined with N-Zymarase Complex or N-Zymarase Intest.

N-Zymarase Gluten is designed to enzymatically break down gluten-containing components of a meal, featuring the specific digestive enzyme “Tolerase G” for breaking down gluten, as well as fennel, caraway, and ginger. This product is not a substitute for a gluten-free diet in cases of diagnosed celiac disease.
If needed, N-Zymarase Gluten can be taken with a meal in combination with N-Zymarase Complex or N-Zymarase Intest.

How does N-Zymarase Inflam differ from digestive enzymes?

N-Zymarase Inflam is not designed as a traditional digestive enzyme complex to be taken with meals. In addition to bromelain and papain, it contains the specific enzymes trypsin and rutin. It is recommended to take N-Zymarase Inflam between meals, as this allows the enzymes to be distributed more effectively throughout the body.

NatuGena’s enzyme supplements for the digestion of proteins, carbohydrates, gluten, lactose, and other dietary challenges—for a healthy gut!

  • N-Zymarase Complex: 16 enzymes plus betaine HCl—for a particularly broad spectrum of enzymes to take with meals.
  • N-Zymarase Intest: 8 digestive enzymes—compact support for the digestion of protein, fat, and carbohydrates.
  • Bromelain 1200: Bromelain, papain, and lipase—with a focus on highly active bromelain.
  • N-Zymarase Fructose: a targeted supplement for meals containing fructose.
  • N-Zymarase Gluten: with Tolerase® G for the enzymatic breakdown of gluten. Not suitable for people with celiac disease.
  • N-Zymarase Inflam: bromelain, papain, trypsin, and rutin—not a traditional digestive enzyme; take between meals.

Each enzyme has its own optimal units of measurement. The enzymatic activity of bromelain, for example, is expressed in GDU (Gelatin Digesting Units). This corresponds to the ability to digest gelatin under controlled experimental conditions.

Another example is provided by the so-called HUT units (Hemoglobin Unit Tyrosine base) of the enzyme protease. These units measure the amount of enzyme required to digest a specific amount of tyrosine-releasing peptide bonds from a hemoglobin-containing substrate under standardized conditions.

To provide you with the most meaningful information possible regarding the individual enzymatic activities, the units of measurement for each enzyme may differ from one another.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to convert enzyme units into other units, as they are determined experimentally.

NatuGena’s enzyme supplements for the digestion of proteins, carbohydrates, gluten, lactose, and other challenges—generally for a healthy gut!

No. N-Zymarase Gluten is not a substitute for a low-gluten or gluten-free diet. It is intended as a supplementary aid for people with gluten sensitivity when small amounts of gluten cannot be reliably avoided—for example, while on vacation or in breading. The product is not suitable for people diagnosed with celiac disease; a strictly gluten-free diet remains necessary.

N-Zymarase Inflam is not a traditional digestive enzyme complex. It contains bromelain, papain, and trypsin, as well as rutin from Sophora japonica extract. When taken between meals, the enzymes are not primarily used for digesting food but are often directed to other parts of the body. Therefore, it is recommended to take it between meals.

No. N-Zymarase Intest contains 8 enzymes, while N-Zymarase Complex contains 16 enzymes. Both contain bromelain, papain, protease, lipase, lactase, glucoamylase, and invertase, as well as a starch-digesting enzyme—amylase or diastase. N-Zymarase Complex also contains betaine HCl.

Natural medical device: PANACEO MED DARM-REPAIR is a natural medical device that supports the regeneration of the gastrointestinal lining and also binds harmful substances (lead, cadmium, arsenic, chromium, nickel and ammonium) in the gastrointestinal tract.

A weakened intestinal barrier can manifest itself through various symptoms. These often include bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea or constipation, as can also occur with irritable bowel syndrome.
PANACEO MED DARM-REPAIR supports the stabilization of the intestinal environment, binds harmful substances in the intestines and can thereby help alleviate these symptoms. At the same time, it supports the regeneration of the intestinal mucosa, helping to establish the basis for a stable digestive system.

It is scientifically recognized that various types of stress, particularly recurring stress (physical and psychological stress, illnesses and drug therapies), can impair the integrity of the intestinal wall (leaky gut). Possible accompanying symptoms of leaky gut include gastrointestinal complaints, elevated liver values, weakened immune function or exhaustion. Please consult your doctor or pharmacist for further information.

Our zeolite comes from the Carpathians. This is the closest high-quality clinoptilolite zeolite deposit in the EU. The zeolite deposits are extracted through open-pit mining. The quality of our zeolite raw material is tested in Austrian laboratories. Further processing and manufacturing of our Klinopur products takes place in Austria under strict quality and purity standards.

Zeolite is a natural mineral which, like any soil or stone, naturally contains substances such as lead and aluminum. However, zeolite is not absorbed by the body but is excreted completely through the intestines and has a high binding capacity for heavy metals, which is why it is also used for the removal of heavy metals.

Our product Klinopur is a certified medical device that undergoes a conformity assessment procedure. As part of this conformity assessment, an external testing body regularly evaluates the safety, performance and benefits of the product. In addition, we continuously carry out quality controls to ensure that our products consistently meet the highest standards.

The reason why alcoholic, caffeinated or acidic beverages such as grapefruit, orange and pineapple juice should not be taken together with zeolite is that these beverages may interact with the properties of zeolite. Zeolite is a mineral that is commonly used to support the gastrointestinal tract and bind certain substances in the digestive tract.

Alcohol and caffeine: These substances can have a diuretic effect and may therefore increase fluid loss. For this reason, we recommend taking zeolite with water rather than with alcoholic or caffeinated beverages.

Acidic beverages: Highly acidic drinks such as certain fruit juices may affect the properties of zeolite. To ensure optimal use, zeolite should therefore preferably be taken with neutral liquids.

Grapefruit: Grapefruit juice can interact with certain medications and alter their effects. Although this is not specific to zeolite, grapefruit juice should generally be avoided when taking medications known to interact with grapefruit.

We therefore recommend taking zeolite with neutral liquids such as water or unsweetened tea to ensure optimal use.

Does zeolite primarily bind heavy metals?
Klinopur Zeolite is designed to preferentially bind heavy metals and harmful substances. The special crystal structure of zeolite gives it a high affinity for certain cations such as lead (Pb²⁺) and cadmium (Cd²⁺).

PANACEO MED DARM-REPAIR is a natural medical device that supports the regeneration of the gastrointestinal lining and also binds harmful substances (lead, cadmium, arsenic, chromium, nickel and ammonium) in the gastrointestinal tract.

Can other substances also be bound, such as therapeutically administered trace elements and minerals (Mg, Ca, Zn, Cu, B, Se, etc.) as well as other food supplements (antioxidants, polyphenols, amino acids, CoQ10)?
The actual binding depends on various factors, including the chemical form of the substances, their concentration and the individual conditions in the gastrointestinal tract.
For this reason, we recommend not taking zeolite at the same time as medications in order to avoid potential interactions.

What does “ultra-fine” mean? What is the particle size? Less than 10 µm?
Our Klinopur product has an average particle size of approximately 4 µm, which is why it is described as ultra-fine.

We recommend taking zeolite with meals, as the body is particularly active with digestion during this time and metabolic processes are running at full capacity. This allows zeolite to optimally exert its binding and detoxifying properties while gently supporting the gastrointestinal tract without irritating it.

Recommended use: Stir half a teaspoon (approx. 1 g) into a glass of water (250 ml) 2 to 3 times daily and drink the mixture directly with meals. Use should be limited to a maximum of 12 weeks. Afterwards, a break of at least one week is recommended before starting another course.

Tip – spacing: If you also take food supplements containing minerals or trace elements, it is best to take them at a different time or with another meal. This ensures that your body can benefit optimally from both products.

To avoid unwanted drug interactions, we recommend taking PANACEO MED DARM-REPAIR 2 hours apart from medications; unless otherwise prescribed, medications should be taken before the zeolite.

If you are taking medications at the same time, inform your doctor, as PANACEO MED DARM-REPAIR may increase the body’s immune activity as a side effect.

Since sufficient data are not yet available, use in children and adolescents (under 18 years of age) as well as in pregnant and breastfeeding women cannot be recommended.

Do not exceed the specified daily dose without consulting your doctor. Do not inhale. Keep out of reach of children under 6 years of age. Always close the container after use.

In the traditional sense, “buffered” refers to the combination of ascorbic acid with minerals such as calcium or magnesium.

The special feature of PureWay-C lies in its innovative formulation with plant-based fatty acids (lipid metabolites). These help reduce the natural acidity of ascorbic acid, making the product gentler on the stomach and better tolerated.

It could therefore be described as follows: PureWay-C is a lipid-metabolized vitamin C complex that, thanks to its special structure, enables gentle absorption and high bioavailability. This provides a plant-based form of buffering.

Vitamin C can irritate the stomach lining when taken in higher doses.
Well-tolerated forms include:

These forms are generally much gentler on the stomach.

Our products Mitochondria Activator Powder, Protein Vegan and OktaAmino Powder are produced in large containers. The induction seal inserts used to close containers of this size are standardly equipped with a 0.6 mm opening. This is not a quality defect, but a proven precautionary measure designed to compensate for differences in pressure and temperature that can occur during the transport or storage of filled and sealed products. This reliably helps prevent possible deformation of the packaging.

The resulting air exchange is minimal and does not lead to increased oxidation of the product. Quality and product safety are, of course, fully maintained.

Histamine can cause certain products to be less well tolerated in sensitive individuals. Those affected are often unaware that their body is releasing increased amounts of histamine.

Histamine release is particularly increased during allergic reactions, with possible consequences including itching, redness, swelling or digestive problems.

Which products are particularly recommended for histamine sensitivity?
  • Omega-3 fatty acids – EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid)
  • HistaStabil – with quercetin and other secondary plant compounds
  • HistaBakt – contains selected histamine-reducing and histamine-neutral bacterial strains
  • Zeolite – as an approved medical device, it can help bind substances in the intestines that may be burdensome
  • MyrrheAktiv – with plant-based ingredients such as frankincense, chamomile and black cumin
  • Phospholipid-4 Complex – provides building blocks for mucous membranes and cell membranes

Find out more in the detailed blog article by Thorsten Schmitt: Allergies with a focus on histamine causes, symptoms & approaches to solutions.

Book recommendation: The Histamine Misconception – for anyone who wants to specifically adapt their diet, written by K. & S. Kauffmann.

What should you be more mindful of if you are sensitive to histamine?
Use with caution and adjust the dosage individually:
  • B vitamins – some are fermented and may not always be well tolerated in cases of histamine sensitivity
  • Herbal ferments (e.g. BactoGena Liquid Plus and Pur) – contain biogenic amines as a result of fermentation
  • L-glutamine – in cases of histamine sensitivity, it is advisable to start with a low dosage and adjust the amount individually. L-glutamine is an amino acid obtained from corn starch through fermentation.
  • The same applies to MukosaAktiv and MukosaPowder – gradually increasing the dosage may be advisable, as they contain L-glutamine as well as other selected ingredients such as aloe vera, frankincense and zinc. Zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal mucous membranes.

Direct skin contact with fresh stinging nettle can cause temporary irritation. This is caused, among other things, by substances such as histamine, which are released through fine stinging hairs.

When taken orally, however, stinging nettle (Urtica dioica) has a different profile and is traditionally used in herbal formulations. Scientific literature also describes interactions between constituents of stinging nettle and histamine-related processes in the body, including interactions with histamine receptors (e.g. H1 receptors). It is therefore an established component of corresponding herbal formulations.

In connection with histamine, the enzyme diamine oxidase (DAO), which is found particularly in the digestive tract, is often mentioned.
HistaStabil takes a more holistic approach and combines various ingredients in a carefully coordinated formulation.

Individual intolerances to plant-based ingredients are generally possible. If you have a known sensitivity, you should consult a healthcare professional before use.

All three NatuGena supplements provide iron, but each has a different focus:

Iron Vegan provides 42 mg of iron per daily dose (3 capsules) from curry leaf extract and combines this with 150 mg of vitamin C from acerola. It is particularly suitable for those who prefer a completely plant-based formula and a higher iron content.

Liposomal Iron provides 21 mg of iron in the form of liposomally formulated iron bisglycinate, as well as 120 mg of vitamin C (1 capsule). This formula is particularly suitable for people who are looking for an easily tolerated and straightforward iron supplement.

Lactoferrin combines 40 mg of iron from iron bisglycinate and iron fumarate with 100 mg of lactoferrin (Bioferrin® 2000), as well as vitamin C, copper, and selected B vitamins (1 capsule). The natural Bioferrin molecule plays a key role in iron absorption: It is an iron-binding protein found in human and animal milk (Bioferrin is lactose-free and contains milk protein). In addition to providing iron, this formula supports various nutritional functions related to blood formation, energy metabolism, and iron transport.

All of our products are combined with vitamin C.

When particularly high doses of iron are desired, the combination of vegan iron and lactoferrin can have a synergistic effect; that is, lactoferrin can be effectively combined with plant-based iron (e.g., EisenVegan) or liposomal iron.
The liver also plays a major role in iron absorption. Bitter substances can support liver function—for example, in the form of AmaraPur drops.

For maximum absorption, iron should be taken on an empty stomach (about 30–60 minutes before breakfast). It is best to take it at least 30 minutes before or 90 minutes after a meal with 250 ml of still, lukewarm water or, alternatively, with the juice of half a freshly squeezed lemon.

However, if you have a very sensitive stomach, you can also take Vegan Iron or Liposomal Iron with meals to improve tolerability.

Conventional iron supplements can upset the gastrointestinal tract in sensitive individuals and lead to nausea or constipation, for example.

Well-tolerated alternatives include:

  • Vegan iron comes from plant-based sources (e.g., curry leaves) and dietary supplements that are suitable for iron supplementation in vegans.
  • Liposomal iron contains iron bisglycinate combined with phospholipids and is vegan.
  • Lactoferrin contains the natural bioferrin molecule, which plays a central role in iron absorption. It is an iron-binding protein found in human and animal milk. It plays a role in regulating iron absorption and the immune system. In addition to lactoferrin, the Lactoferrin product also contains animal- and plant-based iron, as well as micronutrients that are essential for blood formation and iron transport.

Combining it with vitamin C can further support iron absorption, which is why sources of vitamin C are already included in all our products.

Our products undergo regular and thorough microbiological testing, as well as checks for potential contamination from residues, plasticizers, pesticides and heavy metals. Chlorella is a freshwater algae and is cultivated in special organic fermenters. Thanks to the closed system, there is no contact with fish or seawater, preventing heavy metals, microplastics or other marine pollutants from entering our algae.

Unlike marine algae, Chlorella contains very little iodine because it is a freshwater algae. Therefore, you can also benefit from the healthy properties of Chlorella even if you have an overactive thyroid. Please allow at least 1 hour between taking Chlorella and other supplements or medications. Ideally, consume it at least 2 hours before or after a meal. Please refer to the recommended intake.
Chlorella contains less than 70 micrograms of iodine per 100 grams. One Chlorella tablet at NatuGena weighs 0.4 g and therefore contains a very small amount of 0.311 µg of iodine per tablet. With 15 TriTox tablets, this amounts to 4.66 µg per day. A pack of 450 tablets weighs approximately 200 g, meaning that approximately 140 µg of iodine is consumed per month.
With 5 "Organic Chlorella" tablets, the amount is 1.55 µg per day. A pack of 500 tablets weighs approximately 200 g, meaning that approximately 47 µg of iodine is consumed per month.

No. Be sure to leave enough time between consuming coffee, tea, and dairy products, as the substances they contain (such as tannins or calcium) can significantly inhibit iron absorption.

Iron absorption is enhanced by vitamin C, fruit acids, foods containing lactic acid (such as sauerkraut), and foods rich in vitamin A.

Certain substances inhibit iron absorption, including coffee, red wine, green and black tea, oxalic acid, phytic acid, and calcium-rich foods.

Iron Vegan and Liposomal Iron are 100% vegan. Lactoferrin is vegetarian, as the Bioferrin® 2000 protein is derived from cow’s milk, but it is lactose-free.

Iron Vegan contains plant-based iron from curry leaves, acerola, and piperine. Liposomal Iron contains liposomal iron bisglycinate, vitamin C, and sunflower lecithin.

According to the manufacturer of the branded raw material “Bioferrin,” this lactoferrin product does not contain lactose. However, the lactoferrin in the product is derived from sweet whey and contains milk protein. Therefore, this product is not suitable for people with a milk protein allergy. In this case, alternatives include, for example, Vegan Liposomal Iron or Vegan Iron.

Melatonin contains 1 mg of melatonin per daily serving (1 spray), while Melatonin 2.5 contains 2.5 mg of melatonin per daily serving (1 spray). Melatonin 2.5 is therefore more highly dosed per spray.

For sensitive individuals, we recommend starting with 1 mg of melatonin and adjusting the dosage individually if needed.

The two products also differ in taste: the Melatonin Spray contains orange oil, while Melatonin 2.5 is formulated with orange and lavender oils.

At NatuGena, we offer the following calcium products:

  • Calcium from coral (200 mg calcium) in MultiVegan – https://natugena.de/shop/MultiVegan.aspx
  • Calcium citrate (300 mg calcium) in Calcium & Magnesium – https://natugena.de/shop/Calcium-Magnesium.aspx
  • Calcium (MCHA), microcrystalline hydroxyapatite derived from bovine bone (180 mg per capsule, 720 mg per daily serving of 4 capsules). Microcrystalline hydroxyapatite (MCHA) is of natural origin and rich in calcium, which is needed for the maintenance of normal bones, nails and teeth. MCHA derived from bovine bone also contains additional cofactors/components such as minerals, proteins, matrix components and glycosaminoglycans – https://natugena.de/shop/Calcium.aspx

Unfortunately, we do not currently offer a vegan calcium product as a standalone supplement.

This is a common side effect of conventional supplements. Switch to liposomal iron, as the combination with lecithin allows the iron to be absorbed differently. With Lactoferrin, the iron is delivered directly into the body via its transport molecule (Bioferrin), which, based on experience, rarely causes constipation. Constipation is also rare with EisenVegan due to the very natural absorption from the curry leaf. However, individual tolerance can vary from person to person. If constipation does occur, we recommend drinking plenty of water and incorporating fiber into your diet to regulate bowel movements.

Yes, we have wowtamins Iron Gummies especially for little ones. They’re sugar-free, have a raspberry flavor, and provide 15 mg of iron per serving—without that typical iron taste.

Natto is rich in vitamin K2 and contains comparatively less vitamin K1. Some manufacturers remove vitamin K from nattokinase products in order to further enhance the blood-thinning effect. However, our product retains the natural composition of nattokinase and therefore has a natural blood-thinning effect.

Nattokinase has a fibrinolytic effect, which means that it may help break down blood clots. It works by breaking down fibrin, a protein involved in blood clotting.

Nattokinase is extracted from natto, which is made from fermented soybeans. Nattokinase may naturally contain soy allergens. This also applies to our product.

Precautions:

  • If you are taking blood-thinning medications such as warfarin, heparin or aspirin, you should discuss taking nattokinase with your doctor, as the combination could inhibit blood clotting too strongly.
  • Inform your doctor or dentist if you are taking nattokinase, especially before surgical or dental procedures.
  • People with blood clotting disorders should also exercise caution and discuss taking nattokinase with their doctor.

Iron absorption in the intestine is primarily regulated by the body’s own hormone, hepcidin, which is produced in the liver. If iron levels in the body rise, the liver releases more hepcidin—which inhibits further iron absorption from the intestines. To account for this regulatory mechanism, it may be advisable to take iron every other day rather than daily. This allows the body to better balance its iron levels.

Of the three products, Iron Vegan contains the highest amount of iron—42 mg per daily dose—followed by Lactoferrin with 40 mg and Liposomal Iron with 21 mg.

However, what matters is not how much iron you consume, but how much of it actually reaches the hemoglobin.

A higher iron content does not automatically mean that more iron is absorbed by the individual or that iron levels change more quickly. This depends on the function of the intestines and liver, as well as the available iron-transport molecules and other individual factors. If you have been diagnosed with iron deficiency or have significantly low ferritin or hemoglobin levels, your iron intake and follow-up care should be determined by a doctor or therapist.

Product Iron per Daily Dose Special Feature

Yes, the nucleotides contained in Nucleotide Modulator are derived from yeast.

Nucleotides contain natural building blocks that can be involved in the body’s purine metabolism, among other processes. Purines are broken down into uric acid in the body. Therefore, it may be advisable for individuals with a sensitive metabolic profile to monitor their individual uric acid levels.

Tolerance may vary from person to person and depends, among other factors, on diet, metabolism, kidney function, and other products or medications being taken.

If you have any concerns, we recommend consulting your doctor or therapist before use. Dietary supplements are not a substitute for a balanced diet or medical evaluation.

NucleotideModulator contains nucleotides derived from yeast. Yeast is a natural source of certain cellular building blocks, including nucleotides.

Uric acid

Nucleotides may contain natural building blocks that are involved in the body’s purine metabolism, among other processes. Purines are broken down into uric acid in the body. Therefore, for individuals with a sensitive metabolic condition, elevated uric acid levels, or a relevant medical history, it may be advisable to monitor individual uric acid levels and consult with a treating physician or therapist before use.

Histamine

Since the nucleotides are derived from yeast, individual tolerance may vary among histamine-sensitive individuals. Even though this is not a traditional fermented food, highly sensitive individuals may react differently to yeast-based ingredients. In such cases, it is advisable to start cautiously and monitor personal tolerance.

Overall tolerance depends on various factors, including diet, metabolism, gut flora, kidney function, and other products or medications being taken.

Our products undergo regular and thorough microbiological testing, as well as checks for potential contamination from residues, plasticizers, pesticides and heavy metals. The spirulina algae are cultivated in sustainable aquaculture systems (not in seawater) without the use of synthetic fertilizers. They thrive in clean, alkaline waters and are gently dried after harvesting to preserve their nutrient content. Thanks to the closed system, there is no contact with fish or seawater, preventing heavy metals, microplastics or other marine pollutants from entering our cyanobacteria. Organic cultivation and careful processing ensure the purity of our spirulina powder in the highest organic quality.

One daily serving of our food supplement provides 517 mg of bound silicon from high-quality, purely plant-based sources. This corresponds to a net amount of 238.8 mg of pure (elemental) silicon.

What is the difference between bound and elemental silicon?

In nature, the trace element silicon never occurs in isolation. Plants such as bamboo, nettle and horsetail absorb the substance from the soil and convert it into natural silicic acid (often scientifically referred to as silica or silicon dioxide). This organic matrix is the natural “transport packaging” – the bound silicon (517 mg).

After ingestion, the body breaks down this plant-based compound to release the actual active ingredient: elemental silicon (238.8 mg). This is the exact amount of pure, bioavailable silicon. Together with vitamin C from acerola, it synergistically supports the skin, hair, nails and connective tissue.

Taking zinc on an empty stomach can temporarily cause nausea or stomach discomfort. The unpleasant feeling usually subsides after a few minutes, but it can generally be avoided. Our recommendation: Always take zinc after a meal to improve tolerability.

Frankincense is generally well tolerated, but in rare cases it may cause stomach irritation.
Our recommendation is to take a short break if any discomfort occurs and then resume with a lower dosage.

Because FSMPs are formulated for the physiological changes associated with specific illnesses, a healthcare professional must ensure the dosage and composition fit the individual therapy plan and do not interfere with other treatments.

No. They are classified as food. They do not "cure" diseases through pharmacological means but rather manage them nutritionally by correcting specific, disease-related nutrient deficiencies.

The formulations are based on current scientific findings and clinical data (e.g., RCTs). Every ingredient is selected for its proven contribution to the dietary management of the respective medical condition.

They are intended for patients whose nutritional intake or metabolism is impaired due to a medical condition and who require a specific, medically indicated nutrient profile.

From a physiological standpoint, the use of microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) in our formulations is considered completely safe, as it is a purified, insoluble plant fiber. In the human body, MCC is neither metabolized nor absorbed in the intestine, but passes through the digestive tract unchanged as dietary fiber, a fact confirmed by extensive safety assessments by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and international toxicological data. Since this excipient does not interact with active ingredients and has no allergenic potential, its safety is scientifically substantiated even in long-term applications.

Technologically, its use is currently unavoidable in only a few of our products because MCC serves as an essential carrier to ensure the homogeneity and precise dosing of minute amounts of active ingredients—known as content uniformity—in the microgram range. Notwithstanding the high safety profile of MCC, we continuously evaluate technological innovations as part of our product development to further optimize the use of excipients through alternatives.

Potassium sorbate is used in our sprays at a very low concentration of 0.14 m% to ensure the product’s microbiological stability and shelf life. It protects against contamination by yeast, mold, or bacteria and ensures that quality, bioavailability, and safety are maintained throughout the entire period of use. This is the lowest possible dose of potassium sorbate and is classified as safe by international health authorities. Completely eliminating preservatives in liquid products such as sprays is not possible without compromising stability and efficacy. Of course, we are still working on an innovative and suitable alternative.
