What role does L-arginine play in the body?
L-arginine is a semi-essential amino acid that plays a central role in numerous physiological processes in the human body. It is a direct precursor to nitric oxide (NO), produced in endothelial cells. Although the body can synthesise arginine, endogenous production is not always sufficient, especially under stress or increased physical demand.
Which vitamins are included in HerzGlück?
HerzGlück contains the essential B vitamins B6, B9 (folate) and B12. Vitamin B6, vitamin B12 and folate contribute to normal homocysteine metabolism, to the normal formation of red blood cells, and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. B6 also supports normal energy-yielding metabolism, as well as normal protein and glycogen metabolism. Vitamin B9 and B12 contribute to normal amino acid synthesis.
What makes hawthorn and organic cocoa special?
Hawthorn (Crataegus) is a plant native to Europe, Asia and North America and is characterised by its white blossoms and red berries. Our organic cocoa provides flavanols – a specific group of polyphenols found in many plant-based foods.
Another ingredient is beetroot, which is naturally associated with our blood and blood vessels due to its red colour.
Bergamot extract is rich in polyphenols and essential oils.
What is coenzyme Q10 and why does HerzGlück contain ubiquinone?
Coenzyme Q10 (Q10) is a fat-soluble, vitamin-like coenzyme that plays a central role in the mitochondria – the "powerhouses" of the cells. It is involved in energy metabolism and is particularly abundant in organs with high-energy demands.
In HerzGlück, Q10 is included in the proven form of ubiquinone. This oxidised form is chemically stable. The body can convert ubiquinone into ubiquinol when needed.
