BactoGena Liquid Pur by NatuGena – Organic bitter ferment with 35 microbial strains, bitter compounds from plant extracts and functional mushrooms in liquid form. 1,000 ml with measuring cap for easy dosing, sufficient for 40 days.

  • 35 microbial strains: A comprehensive combination of Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium and Streptococcus strains
  • With Bacillus subtilis: Microbe of the Year 2023
  • Functional mushrooms: Cordyceps, hericium and reishi from certified organic cultivation
  • Plant extracts and bitter compounds: Selected bitter herbs traditionally used
  • Sugar-free in the final product: The added sugar is completely metabolised during fermentation and remains below the legal threshold of 0.5 g sugar per 100 g
  • Produced in Germany: Exceptional purity and bioavailability for optimal nutrient uptake

Digestive needs are as individual as lifestyle and dietary habits. Depending on food choices and digestive processes, the body places different demands on enzymes and microbial diversity. BactoGena Liquid Pur combines fermented microorganisms, plant compounds and functional mushrooms in a liquid, easy-to-dose formulation.

This composition was developed in collaboration with Prof. Dr rer. nat. Michaela Döll to provide a harmonious, plant-based supplement that can be easily integrated into a wide variety of dietary patterns.

Which microorganisms are included?

The selected bacterial blend comprises 35 microbial strains from the genera Bifidobacterium, Lactobacillus, Lactococcus and other well-known fermentative cultures. The formulation is complemented by Bacillus subtilis, which gained particular attention as “Microbe of the Year 2023”. Each strain contributes to the natural microbial diversity of the daily serving.

Which plant-based components are used?

In addition to microorganisms, the formulation contains plant-based accompanying ingredients such as organic cordyceps, organic hericium, organic reishi (Ling Zhi) and grape seed flour. These ingredients are sourced from certified organic cultivation and complement the ferment with traditional plant compounds.

Why are rice syrup and date syrup used and why is the product still sugar-free?

Organic rice syrup and organic date syrup are used in the production of BactoGena Liquid Pur not as sweeteners, but as a natural nutrient medium for the microorganisms. During fermentation, the bacteria use these sugars as an energy source to grow and activate their metabolic processes. The sugars are almost completely metabolised and converted into other substances.

As a result of this fermentation process, the remaining sugar content in the final product is so low that it qualifies as sugar-free under legal definitions (below 0.5 g sugar per 100 g). At the same time, a very small amount of alcohol is produced (below 0.5 % vol.), which is also legally classified as alcohol-free.

Information for people with histamine sensitivity
Histamine can cause sensitive people to be unable to tolerate certain products as usual. Those affected are often unaware that their bodies are releasing increased amounts of histamine. Herbal ferments contain biogenic amines due to fermentation. We recommend a particularly gentle bacterial product called ‘HistaBakt’ – it contains selected histamine-lowering and histamine-neutral bacterial strains.

Storage

The quantity of one litre is sufficient for approx. 4-5 weeks. However, do not drink directly from the bottle. A hissing sound when opening the bottle or visible yeast particles are to be expected. This is a naturally fermented product, so variations in smell and taste may occur. As long as the product has not expired or smells like rotten eggs, it is still edible. We do not use any flavourings, but thanks to years of fermentation expertise, we have developed a herbal ferment taste that is generally very pleasant. The ferment can also be given to children and is suitable for pregnant women. If you are undergoing medical treatment, talk to your doctor about taking our products. It is advisable to take it during or after a course of antibiotics. BactoGena Liquid Pur can be integrated into your daily routine all year round or used as a course of treatment.
The optimal storage conditions for unopened products are cool and dark (max. room temperature 17-20 °C or in the refrigerator). Once opened, the product should be stored in the refrigerator (5-7 °C). Use within 8 weeks. Please ensure hygienic removal.

Notes

Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a balanced and varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. Keep out of reach of small children. Store closed, in a cool, dry place away from light. Do not exceed the recommended daily intake stated.

colony-forming units. As this is a naturally fermented, unsterilised product containing live, active microorganisms, the bacterial count may vary. As we deliberately avoid using additives, there may be slight differences in colour, taste and smell, and a slight excess of pressure may occur. This does not affect the quality of the product.

Enzymes: Small helpers with a big impact on digestion and metabolism

Our body is a marvel—but it cannot do everything on its own. It needs support for numerous processes: this is where enzymes come into play. These natural biocatalysts are involved in almost all metabolic processes—from digestion to energy production.

Why the intestine is more than just a digestive organ

The gut is much more than “just” a digestive organ—it is central to our physical, emotional, and mental health. About 80% of our immune system is located in the gut, where neurotransmitters such as serotonin are produced, and it communicates directly with our brain via the nervous system. At the same time, the gut is extremely sensitive to stress, emotional strain, and environmental toxins. A holistic view of the gut therefore means that we do not consider it in isolation, but in connection with our lifestyle, our diet, our emotions, and our own unique history.

FAQ

Natural medical device: PANACEO MED DARM-REPAIR is a natural medical device that supports the regeneration of the gastrointestinal lining and also binds harmful substances (lead, cadmium, arsenic, chromium, nickel and ammonium) in the gastrointestinal tract.

A weakened intestinal barrier can manifest itself through various symptoms. These often include bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea or constipation, as can also occur with irritable bowel syndrome.
PANACEO MED DARM-REPAIR supports the stabilization of the intestinal environment, binds harmful substances in the intestines and can thereby help alleviate these symptoms. At the same time, it supports the regeneration of the intestinal mucosa, helping to establish the basis for a stable digestive system.

It is scientifically recognized that various types of stress, particularly recurring stress (physical and psychological stress, illnesses and drug therapies), can impair the integrity of the intestinal wall (leaky gut). Possible accompanying symptoms of leaky gut include gastrointestinal complaints, elevated liver values, weakened immune function or exhaustion. Please consult your doctor or pharmacist for further information.

Both products are high-quality organic ferments containing more than 30 different strains of microorganisms and a liquid formulation. They are characterized by their pleasantly distinctive taste, contain Bacillus subtilis – the “Microbe of the Year 2023” – and are produced according to the highest organic quality standards.
  • BactoGena Liquid Plus additionally contains 20 organically grown herbs – just like the former MikroVeda LIFE – and is therefore its direct successor. The selected herbs give the ferment its distinctive spicy, herbal and pleasantly bitter taste.
  • BactoGena Liquid Pur instead contains medicinal mushrooms such as Cordyceps, Reishi and Hericium. As a result, the taste is milder, slightly yeasty and subtly reminiscent of apple cider vinegar. It is an alternative product variant.

Yes. BactoGena Liquid Plus is the successor to MikroVeda LIFE.

The formulation is almost identical. As part of a product update, only the name was changed. If you have previously used MikroVeda LIFE, you can switch to BactoGena Liquid Plus without concern. The bioactive enzyme ferment contains 33 microorganisms and 20 herbs of organic quality.

Histamine can cause certain products to be less well tolerated in sensitive individuals. Those affected are often unaware that their body is releasing increased amounts of histamine.

Histamine release is particularly increased during allergic reactions, with possible consequences including itching, redness, swelling or digestive problems.

Which products are particularly recommended for histamine sensitivity?
  • Omega-3 fatty acids – EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid)
  • HistaStabil – with quercetin and other secondary plant compounds
  • HistaBakt – contains selected histamine-reducing and histamine-neutral bacterial strains
  • Zeolite – as an approved medical device, it can help bind substances in the intestines that may be burdensome
  • MyrrheAktiv – with plant-based ingredients such as frankincense, chamomile and black cumin
  • Phospholipid-4 Complex – provides building blocks for mucous membranes and cell membranes

Find out more in the detailed blog article by Thorsten Schmitt: Allergies with a focus on histamine causes, symptoms & approaches to solutions.

Book recommendation: The Histamine Misconception – for anyone who wants to specifically adapt their diet, written by K. & S. Kauffmann.

What should you be more mindful of if you are sensitive to histamine?
Use with caution and adjust the dosage individually:
  • B vitamins – some are fermented and may not always be well tolerated in cases of histamine sensitivity
  • Herbal ferments (e.g. BactoGena Liquid Plus and Pur) – contain biogenic amines as a result of fermentation
  • L-glutamine – in cases of histamine sensitivity, it is advisable to start with a low dosage and adjust the amount individually. L-glutamine is an amino acid obtained from corn starch through fermentation.
  • The same applies to MukosaAktiv and MukosaPowder – gradually increasing the dosage may be advisable, as they contain L-glutamine as well as other selected ingredients such as aloe vera, frankincense and zinc. Zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal mucous membranes.

We work with the independent laboratory AgroLab, which we commission to perform microbiological and heavy metal tests.

In our microbiological testing, we measure the aerobic mesophilic plate count (total plate count), as well as the levels of Escherichia coli (E. coli), yeasts, Salmonella, molds, and staphylococci.

For heavy metals, we test for arsenic, lead, cadmium, and mercury in accordance with the limit values specified in Regulation (EU) 2023/915.

The optimal duration of use depends on the specific nutrient, your initial situation, diet, and individual requirements.

There is therefore no one-size-fits-all recommendation for how long a product should be taken. For products intended to support nutrient intake over a longer period, use over several weeks to months may be appropriate. In many cases, a period of around three months may be suitable before nutrient status and further requirements are reassessed.

In the case of diagnosed deficiencies, medical conditions, or the use of medication, the use of supplements should be individually discussed with a doctor or qualified healthcare professional.

The optimal time to take a supplement depends on the specific nutrient, individual tolerance, and the composition of the product. However, some ingredients can be particularly well suited to certain times of day or meals.

In the morning

Stimulating ingredients are often preferably taken in the morning or during the first half of the day. These include, for example:

  • Coenzyme Q10
  • Green tea extract
  • Certain B vitamins

Especially for sensitive individuals, it may be advisable to avoid taking stimulating ingredients immediately before bedtime.

Throughout the day

For some nutrients, it may be beneficial to divide the daily amount into several doses.

Water-soluble vitamins such as B vitamins and vitamin C can be taken throughout the day.

Magnesium can also be divided into several doses rather than taking the entire daily amount at once. This may improve tolerance, particularly with higher amounts.

In the evening

Depending on the type of magnesium compound, taking it in the evening may be beneficial. Magnesium glycinate, for example, is often preferably taken in the evening.

In general, however, the best time to take a product also depends on when it is individually best tolerated and can be reliably incorporated into your daily routine.

With a meal

Some nutrients benefit from being taken together with a meal.

Fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K can be taken together and ideally with a meal containing some fat.

Omega-3 fatty acids should also be taken regularly with a meal. Omega-3 oils can be combined well with fat-soluble vitamins.

Many plant-based ingredients can also be taken as part of a meal or together with omega-3 products. However, the optimal timing depends on the specific plant compound and product formulation.

Zinc can cause nausea or stomach discomfort on an empty stomach in some people. If you have a sensitive stomach, it is therefore advisable to take zinc with a meal.

Between meals

Iron is often taken separately from meals, as various foods and beverages can affect its absorption. It is particularly advisable to leave a gap between iron and:

  • Coffee and tea
  • Caffeinated beverages
  • Milk and dairy products
  • Calcium- or mineral-rich supplements

However, if you have a sensitive stomach, iron can also be taken with a meal. In this case, individual tolerance is more important than a theoretically optimal intake situation.

Enzyme supplements vary depending on their intended use: digestive enzymes are generally taken with meals. Products that are specifically intended to be taken between meals may, for example, be taken around 30 minutes before a meal. The product's specific recommended intake should always be followed.

Around exercise

Proteins and amino acids can be taken both before and after training.

If you exercise on an empty stomach, taking them around 30 minutes before training may be beneficial. If you have already eaten a protein-rich meal, you can also plan your protein intake for after training.

In general, ensuring sufficient protein intake throughout the entire day is more important than adhering to a narrow time window around your workout.
