Vitamin K2 is obtained from the natural raw material Natto. As "bone vitamin" it is one of the most important fat-soluble vitamins. In its active form MK7-all-trans, it is responsible for activating the protein osteocalcin, which transports calcium to the bones. Vitamin K2 MK-7 has a bacterial origin and thus a long half-life, so that even a single daily dose ensures permanent protection by vitamin K2.
 
Behind the generic term vitamin K is a collective term that stands for various substances (phylloquinone = vitamin K1, menaquinone = vitamin K2, menadione = vitamin K3).
