What characterises the plant and mushroom extracts?
yourEPI Life Base Pro combines extracts from berberine, ashwagandha root (KSM-66®), cinnamon, lemon balm and prickly pear with the mushroom extracts Hericium and Shiitake. This carefully selected combination provides a broad spectrum of natural plant and mushroom constituents, including alkaloids, polyphenols, flavonoids, withanolides and polysaccharides.
The branded ingredient KSM-66® is used for the ashwagandha extract and is standardised to a defined withanolide content.
What role do the vitamins and minerals contained in the formula play?
The formula is complemented by bioactive B vitamins as well as zinc and chromium. Riboflavin, vitamin B6, folate and vitamin B12 contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. In addition, folate, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12 contribute to normal homocysteine metabolism. Vitamin B6 contributes to the regulation of hormonal activity. Zinc contributes to normal DNA synthesis and has a role in the process of cell division, while chromium contributes to normal macronutrient metabolism.
Why does the formula contain betaine, SAMe and PQQ?
The formulation also contains betaine, SAMe (S-adenosyl-L-methionine) and pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) as the branded ingredient MGCPQQ®. Betaine occurs naturally in foods such as beetroot, spinach and wholegrain products. SAMe is a compound naturally present in the body, and PQQ is used in the formula as a high-quality branded ingredient.
