Alpha-lipoic acid, also known as thioctic acid, is a sulphur-containing fatty acid. It is both water- and fat-soluble, functions as a coenzyme in the mitochondria of many organisms, and is found in every cell. Naturally present in foods such as spinach, tomatoes and organ meats, it plays a role in cellular energy processes.
Our R-alpha-lipoic acid corresponds to the naturally occurring form found in the body. Unlike the commonly used synthetic R/S mixture, it is a biologically active compound that is efficiently metabolised. This ingredient is produced in Germany under strictly controlled conditions.

What roles do the included B vitamins play?

 

 


The B vitamins in the formula are provided in their bioactive forms. Vitamin B12 (as methylcobalamin) contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism. Folate (as Quatrefolic®) supports normal homocysteine metabolism. Biotin (vitamin B7) contributes to the maintenance of normal skin and mucous membranes and supports nervous system function. Recommended Use

Take 1 capsule once daily. For best results, take at least 30 minutes before or 90 minutes after a meal with 250 ml of still, lukewarm water or, alternatively, with the juice of half a freshly squeezed lemon.
