Homocysteine Modulator contains 700 mg of high-dose betaine, which contributes to the normal metabolism of homocysteine. Homocysteine is an amino acid naturally formed in the body during the breakdown of methionine – an essential amino acid found in protein-rich foods such as meat, fish and eggs. For this process to function efficiently, the body needs specific nutrients. Betaine anhydrous (also known as trimethylglycine or TMG), naturally found in sugar beets, acts as a methyl group donor. These methyl groups are essential for converting homocysteine back into methionine, helping to keep the body’s methylation cycle balanced.

What is SAMe?

SAMe (S-adenosylmethionine) is a biologically active compound synthesised in the body from the amino acid methionine and ATP (adenosine triphosphate). It plays a role in numerous biochemical processes, including the synthesis of glutathione. SAMe is converted into cysteine and other amino acids in a process that requires vitamin B6.

Which B vitamins are included?

In addition to betaine and SAMe, Homocystein Modulator contains the bioactive forms of vitamins B6, B12 and folate. These vitamins contribute to the maintenance of normal homocysteine metabolism and play a key role in supporting a balanced methylation process.

 

*The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 1.5 g of betaine.

 

Recommended intake

1 capsule once a day. For best results, take with a high-fat meal, washed down with 250 ml of still, lukewarm water or, alternatively, with a teaspoon of omega-3 oil to increase bioavailability.
