What is L-serine and what role does it play in the body?
L-serine is a non-essential, proteinogenic amino acid, meaning the body can produce it itself. Amino acids are structural components of the body’s proteins. L-serine is found in collagen, serine proteases (digestive enzymes) and in the peripheral nervous system.
Because L-serine is closely linked to folate metabolism, we use Quatrefolic® in our formula – a directly bioactive form of vitamin B9.
Why do we use Quatrefolic® as a folate source?
Unlike conventional folic acid, Quatrefolic® provides a fully active form of vitamin B9. This patented compound can be used directly by the body without conversion, making it ideal for supporting cell division and amino acid synthesis.
Quatrefolic® is based on the glucosamine salt of 5-MTHF, which significantly increases water solubility and improves bioavailability. It also allows stable, reliable folate delivery without the conversion losses that can occur with regular folic acid.
What roles do vitamins B2 and B7 play?
The Selenoprotein P Activator uses bioactive forms of the B vitamins, including riboflavin-5-phosphate (vitamin B2) and biotin (vitamin B7).
Both contribute to a normal energy-yielding metabolism and the normal functioning of the nervous system. Vitamin B2 also contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress and helps reduce tiredness and fatigue. Biotin contributes to the normal metabolism of macronutrients such as fats, carbohydrates and proteins.

Recommended intake
4 capsules once a day or, alternatively, 2 capsules in the morning and 2 at lunchtime. It is best to take them 30 minutes before or 90 minutes after a meal with 250 ml of still, lukewarm water.
