Astragalus (Astragalus membranaceus) is one of the best-known plants in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). There, astragalus is considered a classic tonic and is used for energy deficiency. The root is one of the adaptogens.
Astragalus is also called tragacanth and, like the pea, belongs to the legume family, more precisely to the subfamily of the papilionaceous plants. Astragalus originally comes from the East: China, Korea, Mongolia and Siberia. Only the root of the plant is suitable for processing.
Astragalus is rich in many valuable plant substances, such as polysaccharides, of particular interest is astragaloside IV, which occurs exclusively in the astragalus root.
For our NatuGena Astragalus1000, the tragacanth root is obtained by natural extraction using only water and food grade alcohol. This is how we obtain the astragalus powder with 5% astragaloside IV.
The branded raw material Bioperine® is the standardised extract of the fruit of the Piper nigrum (black pepper) or Piper longum (long pepper). It contains at least 95% pure piperine from black pepper concentrated in a ratio of (50:1). Bioperine® has been shown to increase the biological availability of various nutrients. Bioperine® ist außerdem für seine verdauungsfördernden Eigenschaften bekannt.
